Shoe Tying - One Bunny Ear Technique

$4.98

What’s Included: 13 page PDF that teaches the steps required to tie shoes. Pictures of each step are included in two different formats - one includes all the steps on a single sheet and the other format has each step identified on a single page.

Why I use it: I have found the one bunny ear technique to be the best and easiest way to teach shoe tying. While I LOVE the replication in motor planning (cross/tuck/pull) in the two bunny ear technique, so many of my students lack the bilateral coordination and motor planning to maneuver the two floppy bunny ears so we rock the one bunny ear technique! Everything takes practice and shoe tying is no different! My students practice tying around their shoes, legs, books, chairs, etc. I also grade the activity (occupational therapy lingo for making a task easier or harder) in the beginning by using two different shoe lace colors to help the student identify which laces goes where and how and when.
